Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Thursday at 6.15pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10am. Burial afterwards in Butlerstown Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Oncology Unit, University Hospital Waterford.

Michael Long

Mr. Michael Long, Beechwood Avenue, Lower Grange, Waterford, and formerly of Waterford Crystal, who died on Wednesday 19th July, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Saturday at 7.30pm to the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 12.30pm. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner.

Marian Stubbs nee O'Mahoney

Marian Stubbs nee O'Mahoney, Doyle Street, Waterford, and formerly of Elm Terrace, Lisduggan, who died on Friday, 21st July, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Monday at 6.15pm to St. Paul's Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 10am. Burial afterwards in St. Otteran's Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Waterford Hospice Movement.

Margaret Crangle

Mrs. Margaret Crangle nee O’ Connor, Military Barracks, Newports Square, Waterford, formerly of Castle Street and late of Waterford Crystal, who died on Wednesday, 12th July, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Friday at 6.15pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10am. Funeral to St. Otterans Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
