Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Cork) - Nov. 17, 2017 (peacefully), after a short illness; deeply regretted by her brothers Joe, Michael (New York) and Finbar, sisters Joanie and Sheila, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, her extended family, her Good Shepherd Sisters and the residents and staff at Virginia Crescent. R.I.P. Reposing in the Convent Chapel on Sunday from 2 o'c. until 5 o'c. Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St. John’s Church tomorrow (Monday). Funeral afterwards to the Convent Cemetery.

Bridie Kelly (née Galvin)

Bridie Kelly (née Galvin), Roanmore Park & late of Marian Park, Waterford City, who died on Thursday 16th November, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Sunday at 6.15oc to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Monday at 10.00oc followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Pat) Power

Patrick (Pat) Power, Trinity Square & Killure Bridge Nursing Home, Waterford City, who died on Thursday 16th November 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street on Saturday at 6.15oc to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 9.00oc followed by burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery.

Mr Richard (Dick) Fitzgerald

Mr Richard (Dick) Fitzgerald, Crobally Upper, Tramore, Co. Waterford – retired Chef, Fás, who died on Friday, 17th November, 2017. Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Monday from 9:30am followed by removal at 10:45am to The Holy Cross Church, Tramore, for Requiem mass on arrival at 11:30am. Followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Tramore.
